Shakeology Review

If you read your Insanity nutrition guide, then you know it names Shakeology as a great meal replacement shake. This Shakeology Review will go through all the pros and cons so you understand exactly what you are getting.

There is a saying in the Health & Fitness world and that is “you can’t out train a bad diet.” That is the most true and relevant statement that I have ever heard when it comes to fitness.

If you are ready to take your body to the next level and in the shortest time possible then keep reading!

But first, check out this great video that discusses the benefits of Shakeology.

At the end of this review  you will be given a FREE E-book that I wrote called:

7 Dieting Sins-(7 things that you are doing to sabotage your progress)

I hope that you enjoy it.

Okay, so let’s get into the review.

Ingredients

Before getting into the pros and cons, let’s look at the major ingredients. There are over 70 and 23 vitamins and minerals. So, only the main ones will be discussed. This shake contains Acai and Goji berries, which are both known to have amazing health effects and are often proclaimed as super foods.

Quinoa is a grain-like seed made exclusively in Bulgaria. Quinoa is special because it is the only grain or seed that contains a full amino acid profile, similar to meat. Many vegetarians use quinoa to get their daily intake of protein.

There is also wheatgrass, Sacha Inchi and Maca Root, which are all also known for amazing health effects. If you look at all the ingredients (there are many more), you will see that all of them have powerful and proven health effects.

They are also, derived from natural sources and are manufactured with a special process that allows the majority of the nutrients to reman. Most of the other shakes out there lose their nutrients in the manufacturing process.

Calories and Nutrients

Shakeology comes in at 230 calories when combined with skim milk. It only includes 1 gram of fat, 29 grams of goods carbs and 26 grams of protein. The macronutrients are slightly less if you do not use skim milk and replace it with water. Among the carbohydrate count, 3 grams are fiber.

There are many vitamins and nutrients, making this good as a multivitamin supplement. You get 100% of vitamin A, 300% of vitamin C, 50% of vitamin D, 50% of vitamin E, 50% of vitamin K1 and a host of other amazing nutrients. While you should still take a multivitamin, Shakeology gives you most of the nutrition you need in one day.

Pros

There are a lot of pros when it comes to Shakeology, but this review will only highlight the most relevant ones.

Shakeology has a long list of ingredients, all of which deliver high-quality nutrition to your body. If you were to buy all of the ingredients and blend them yourself, then you would have a very expensive shake. Because of this, Shakeology is affordable.

Shakeology has a huge amount of vitamins, minerals and great macronutrients. It is almost capable of replacing most supplements and multivitamins. Also, by adding in all the vitamins and minerals to this recovery and meal replacement shake, it ensures that your body is in prime condition for the next workout.

The calorie level is low, but the shake itself is dense and filling. The shake is only slightly over 200 calories, but each calorie gives your body exactly what it needs.

If you are allergic or intolerant of gluten, then you can still use Shakeology. Most diet and recovery shakes have a fair amount of gluten, but Shakeology does not have any. Even if you aren’t allergic to gluten, this is a big plus. Gluten is known to be addictive and often dampens weight loss success.

The chocolate Shakeology drink is among the best chocolate meal replacement shakes out there. Most chocolate shakes are clumpy, too sweet, too bitter or have a weird aftertaste. B each Body makes a shake that you will want to keep drinking.

I love to make the Carl Daikeler’s Special recipe that comes in the Shakeology guide. It really does taste like a peanut butter cup and that is my favorite candy.

This shake is made for ideal weight loss and weight gain. Let me explain. It is made to help you lose fat weight because of all the good nutrients, and the high amount of protein will help you gain good weight, or muscle. It will help give you that lean and sculpted look that you are going for with Insanity.

Cons

Here are the cons. Some of them are based on many people’s opinions, while others can be quite serious.

A lot of people love the chocolate Shakeology drink, but there seems to be a fair amount of people that don’t like Greenberry. To be honest, I liked Greenberry and its fruity taste, but some people can’t get it down. If a berry tasting supplement doesn’t float your boat, then go for the chocolate one.

Shakeology is relatively expensive when compared to other meal replacement and recovery shakes. Most other shakes cost about $1-$2 per serving, while Shakeology tends to cost around $3 per serving. But, if you compare the ingredients, macronutrients, calories and the vitamins, you will generally see that Shakeology is more expensive for a reason. It delivers more nutrients than most other shakes.

Shakeology doesn’t have enough omega-3 fatty acids. You will still need a supplement, or a serving of fish, to get the proper amount during the day.

If you are using any heart medication, then don’t take Shakeology without doctor’s permission. This isn’t because Shakeology is bad, but because it has vitamin K1. This vitamin interrupts some heart medications, which can cause disastrous results.

This is perhaps the worst con, but there is a reason for it. Shakeology cannot be used if you are a professional athlete or if you are doing anything that requires a steroid test. Before getting alarmed, don’t think that Shakeology has steroids. It doesn’t, because that would be illegal and it would really hurt your weight loss goals.

Shakeology has Suma Root, which naturally contains a significant amount of ecdysterone. This is very helpful for weight loss and it is a natural phyto-nutrient that helps the body in many different ways. Unfortunately, make artificial steroids are made either with this phyto-nutrient or the chemical composition is similar to ecdysterone.

If you are not a professional athlete, then you have nothing to worry about. This phyto-nutrient is great and it will help you lose weight and gain muscle.

Combining with Insanity

Shakeology fits in perfectly with the Insanity workout. I personally use it in the morning to substitute my breakfast meal. This ends up saving me a lot of time because I don’t spend it cooking meals.

It delivers most of the nutrients you need to power through your day and to recover from breaking yourself down with Insanity.

The high protein is great for building your muscles back up, and Shakeology gives you enough carbs to energize you after the workout.

Conclusion

I personally used Insanity and Shakeolgoy to lose over 46 pounds. I have never been in better shape or healthier.

I dropped from a size 38 to a size 33 and I now wear medium athletic fit shirts. I am asked all the time if I am on steroids or what did I do to lose so much weight.  The answer is clear.

In my opinion, this is the best supplement on the planet. The pictures are the proof.

Good luck in your weight loss goals.
